It is no longer news that popular hollywood actress, Angelina Jolie revealed to the world on Monday that she had a surgery (double mastectomy) to remove  her breasts earlier this year as a preventative measure after her doctors warned her she is at high risk of contracting breast cancer. Her risk exposure to the infection was put at 87 percent.

However, what is new is that her partner of many years, Brad Pitt has come out to praise and acknowledge her courage for going ahead with surgery for the sake of their six children.

He tells the London Evening Standard, “Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”

Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 at the age of 56 after battling ovarian cancer for almost a decade.

Angelina Jolie’s humanitarian engagements/services around the world is immeasurable. Let’s  continue to  remember her and her  family in our prayers.
